Hello from Chicago!! Sorry to our fans in Chicago....we're not playing here right now, just enjoying a couple days off in your wonderful city. It's very cold here right now. That actually makes me kinda happy, because I was sick of summer. I like seasons, and I like being cold a lot more than I like being hot....because as I always say "If you're cold you can always put on MORE clothes. Doesn't work so well the other way around!"
Anyway, we just played in Augusta, Maine which was a milestone for us because it was our 49th state to play in as a band. Jeffrey has actually played in all 50 now, because he got to play in Vermont when he was in Seven Places. Vermont is the only state Kutless has never played in. Let's get that going Vermont!!
We are starting to post some dates on our website for upcoming shows, and shows that will take place in the spring, where we will be performing Acoustic. These shows will be (quite nearly) unplugged, and will feature some revised renditions of songs off all of our albums, including some of our heavier tunes, which some fans have been curious about. It's kind of exciting actually, the prospect of doing something different, that is so out of our comfort zone. I'm actually learning a couple of new instruments to try and incorporate into some of these arrangements.
The band Newworldson, which we are on tour with right now, is a great group of musicians, and i've been learning how to play an instrument called a Lap Steel from their bass player Rich.
This should be pretty fun, we want to have a Story Teller's type of vibe to these shows, where the crowd actually feels like we're just hanging out, and playing you guys some songs. Some bands have done this really well, in the past, and we're trying to draw some inspiration from them. I can't mention who these bands are though....because I will get some angry emails! Suffice it to say, one of them had the biggest selling Unplugged record of all time.
Anyway....we look forward to seeing all of you soon, hopefully at a show on this tour we're on right now, with the Newsboys. Canada....here we come....eh?!
